As Morski writes, on Tuesday, April the 5th, 2022, the Rijeka Veterinary Institute will present its extensive sustainable fish farming project called AdriAquaNet – Strengthening Innovation and Sustainability in Adriatic Aquaculture.
The main goal of the project is to strengthen sustainable aquaculture in the Adriatic Sea using advanced knowledge and new technologies. The whole chain is covered – from production in the fish farm itself to the placement of that fish and other such related fish products on the market for purchase.
At the conference they are announcing, the Rijeka Veterinary Institute will talk about improving the state of fish farming with an emphasis placed on fish nutrition, the protection of the health of the fish and their fair and humane treatment, as well as the development of various guidelines for consumers related to the purchase and eventual consumption of the fish.
AdriAquaNet – Strengthening innovation and sustainability in Adriatic Aquaculture is an Italian-Croatian project within the much wider Interreg programme, and the Rijeka Veterinary Institute is closely cooperating with the Department of Science, Agriculture and Environmental Protection of the University of Udine.
The AdriAquaNeta consortium includes scientists from a total of seven research institutions, four production organisations and breeders’ associations from both Italy and here in the Republic of Croatia.
