500 expected to arrive to Zagreb by the end of the day

While we wait for the next press conference by the PD department of County Vukovarsko Srijemska, reports are coming in from all sides on the current state regarding the increased number of refugees entering Croatia.

As confirmed by the spokesperson of the Croatian Railway Ivana Čubelić, an 11 waggon train has departed from the central Railway station in Zagreb towards Vinkovci. It can carry up to 1000 passangers while the mayor of Zagreb Milan Bandić stated that Zagreb is more than ready to accept 2 000 refugees within 48 hours and that the city of Zagreb, along with the Croatian government, will do everything to accept the quota assigned by the EU.

Even though it was known for days that refugees will probably head toward Croatia after Hungary closed its borders, Croatian Ministry of Health only sent out information on how to treat all arriving migrants earlier today, causing a revolt between doctors handling incoming migrants in the border areas.

From the reports coming from all border areas, since this morning 300 refugees were registered in Croatia while 500 hundred new ones are expected to arrive to Zagreb and they will be placed in Dugave in the existing centre used by the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MUP).
