Hvar, the island of wine, seems to be finally getting the wine recognition it deserves in the nigthlife, starting with 2 Prsuta.
Long-term visitors to the island commented to me last year that although Hvar Town was very lively at night, it lacked something for the over 35s who did not want to dance the night away at Stipanska, and that there were in fact few options for entertainment after dinner that did not involve noisy cocktails. As they were wine lovers, I directed them to 3 Prsuta, Hvar’s original wine bar, and they reported back on a fine and lively evening.
It seems this year that Hvar nightlife has seen an evolving of the island’s wine scene, with the opening of other wine bars, so that there is now a little more choice for those who do not want cocktails and rave, but if the customer feedback is anything to go by, it would seem that 3 Prsuta has not only maintained its competitive edge, but has become even more popular.
Although I am not a big fan of TripAdvisor, I seem to be in the minority, and as the season draws to a close, I am very pleased for Vidan and the team at 3 Prsuta, to see them tucked in nicely at number 2 in the restaurant section, just behind long-term number one Dalmatino. And what is impressive is the obvious customer satisfaction. Here are some comments from this month alone:
Great spot for a drink
Great spot for a drink (or few) in the back streets of Hvar town. It is a very cosy place with seating along the lane way. Candles placed in the crevices of the stone walls created a great ambience. Great wine and good tunes (if you’re into 60s and 70s music – think Forest Gump soundtrack).
Delicious wine in a classic setting.
The owner was very friendly and helpful in recommending which wine we choose. He gave us some complimentary dark chocolate to go with one of the wines too. We loved the setting, very rustic, comfortable and ambient with classic rock and blues on the music front. A nice place to go after dinner.
Got to go here!
This is not a place for a meal, it’s a wine bar after all. But a super one at that. Croatia has some great wines and this is the place to sample some of them with a great ambiance to go with it. If you are into wine and like 80’s music, don’t miss it. Enjoy.
Nothing left to chance
I support what has previously been said and really enjoyed myself in this space. I went in their on my own I a rainy day to enjoy a quiet afternoon with a good bottle of wine. Before I knew it I had a big plate of antipasto in front of me and a delicous recommended bottle of wine for my budget. I speny a good two hours in there and loved every minute.
A month of nothing but five-star reviews. Why not pop along to find out why?
