The first course in 2017 by the Croatian Sommelier Club will be held from 10-12 February. It is a first level course, encompassing key basic chapters in knowing wines, covering visual identification of wine, aromas and wine tastes, introduction of oenology, eno-gastronomy, but also an introduction to beer, an increasingly important source of income for restaurants. Course includes a visit to a wine cellar. The sommelier course takes place at the Wine Academy on Samoborska road in Zagreb and costs 2.700 kuna + VAT.
The sommelier course is a good investment for anyone who wants to deal with wines seriously: all better restaurants should definitely send their staff dealing with drinks to a sommelier course. Furthermore, chefs should also attend a sommelier course to better understand the rules of combining food and wine. So it is good Noel’s chef Goran Kočiš signed up for this sommelier course. We hope others will follow his example.
