Tourism in Hvar Town is changing.
As we have covered in various articles on the site, the average age of those coming to Hvar Town is getting younger by the year, but there is also another slow but steady change in the town’s tourism make-up – the season is getting longer.
There was a time in the not-too-distant past when October would be the end of the season, with little happening until the following March, but a few initiatives in recent years have changed that, at least to some extent.
Suncani Hvar’s decision to celebrate New Year in style at Hotel Adriana in recent years has brought back life at the end of the year, and I understand that this year the hotel is either fully booked or close to full booking for the New Year period, which is obviously great news. The traditional sailboat festival Festa Forske Pulene is about to start, and there are many who are eagerly awaiting the island premiere of Fishermen’s Conversations on October 9.
October is a great time to visit Hvar, which is much less crowded and with the locals in relaxed mood after the stresses of the season.
