July 3, 2023 – A musical treat on Hvar this Friday, as world-renowned Perpetuum Jazzile will be wowing the audience at Veneranda.
It was once a nightclub, but these days Veneranda on Hvar has transformed itself into one of the most atmospheric concert locations on the Dalmatian coast. Its historic setting has hosted a number of fabulous cultural events over the years, but few will be as lively as this Friday night with the arrival of world-famous Perpetuum Jazzile for an evening of incredible music and positive vibes which are sure to have the audience singing along.
This vocal orchestra from Slovenia, extremely appreciated by music critics, is known for its powerful rhythms that possess rich harmony, incomparable creativity, positive energy and the variety of musical genres that the singers create with their voices – pop, rock, jazz, gospel, blues, bossa nova , disco, funk, ethno and others. Their music also features a human beatbox – vocal percussion that includes an impressive drum set of sounds and rhythms created only with the mouth. In addition, singers use their hands, feet, and other body parts to interpret all kinds of sounds, such as rain, storms, airplane landings, streams, springs, waves, and other natural phenomena.
The rich concert repertoire of Perpetuum Jazzile includes unique vocal covers of world-famous musical hits by artists such as ABBA, Toto, Michael Jackson, The Queen, Daft Punk, David Guetta, Lady Gaga, Earth, Wind & Fire, Billy Joel, David Bowie, Joni Mitchell, George Benson, Bee Gees and other legends, as well as his own interpretations and covers of various folk songs. The vocal orchestra sings in different languages: English, Portuguese, Spanish, Italian, German, Croatian, Macedonian, Slovenian, etc.
Their concerts provide a unique musical experience and move every listener. Their creative vocal arrangements impress many musicians around the world, and are accompanied by the strong energy and passion of each individual singer.
Artistic director Marko Tiran founded Perpetuum Jazzile in 1983 under the name Gaudeamus. They later changed their name to Perpetuum Jazzile. Today, Perpetuum Jazzile is the most popular vocal orchestra on Youtube, with over 90 million views (Africa is the leader with over 22 million views). Their music videos are often in the top 40 most popular videos on YouTube. The group won the Slovenian special achievement award Viktor in 2008, after their video song Africa by Toto went viral on YouTube.
Tickets are available in the Eventim and Adriatickets systems or before the concert at Veneranda, at a price of 30€. The concert starts at 21:00.
