July the 20th, 2023 – The Croatian company Ralu Logistika (logistics) has invested a massive fifteen million euros and created 100 new employment opportunities.
As Josipa Ban/Poslovni Dnevnik writes, the Croatian company Ralu Logistika has been investing a huge fifteen million euros in the expansion of its storage capacities in Rugvica near Zagreb. This, which is otherwise the largest domestic logistics company currently in operation, has stated that with this investment, they’re expanding their storage capacities in the deep-frozen and refrigerated segment. On top of that, precisely because of this investment, 100 new jobs will be created.
Company growth
The investment is important to them, they explained, because it will allow the company to grow and adapt to the ongoing and rapid development of the modern market. The works should be finished at the beginning of next year.
Increased company capacities
After completion, the capacities of the Croatian company Ralu Logistika should grow from the existing 10,000 pallet spaces to as many as 16,500. Parallel to this increase in storage capacities, investments are also being made in new vehicles, of which there are currently more than 300. With this investment, the fleet will be larger by 35 new trucks, 25 for international transport and ten for delivery within Croatian borders.
“With this new investment cycle, we’re significantly increasing our company capacities in the frozen segment, which will enable us to further develop and expand our national distribution network. The Croatian company Ralu Logistics operates in a total of five locations, and we deliver to more than 6,500 delivery locations.
With further expansion, we’re setting more new standards in terms of quality and providing additional capacities for the growing segment of frozen food and the growing demand for outsourcing of logistics services”, emphasised Mario Mesaroš, President of the Management Board of Ralu Logistika.
Mesaroš took that position last year, but has been with the company, that is, the Management Board, for nine years now. He also stated that the warehouse centre is designed according to the needs of clients who are in a hurry i.e. the need for space for ordering finished products by delivery point.
“All of our warehouse operations take place with a modern WMS system, which enables processes to be carried out even more efficiently,” they pointed out from the company. This, they added, is what is part of the Lura Group owned by Luka Rajić, and represents the continuation of an investment cycle totalling a massive 80 million euros.
A foundation for further growth
Transport, distribution and warehousing is a business that Ralu has been engaged in here in Croatia and elsewhere in the country’s immediate region for more than 30 years. Last year, according to data from Poslovna Hrvatska/Business Croatia, brought in revenues of more than 39 million euros and a profit of 2.3 million euros.
When it comes to logistics, the Croatian company Ralu Logistika primarily serves retail chains and manufacturing companies, and today employs around 600 people in Croatia and neighbouring Serbia. This number should increase to 700 with the completion of the aforementioned investment in the Dragošićka production zone in Rugvica.
