August the 10th, 2023 – The Dom Puntijarka mountain lodge on Sljeme sustained significant damage in the recent violent storms Zagreb and elsewhere have experienced. Luckily, things have been repaired quickly.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, as a result of serious storm damage incurred a couple of weeks ago, the popular Dom Puntijarka mountain lodge has been closed. Thankfully, good news has now been announced – they have now managed to repair the damage and this Sljeme mountaineering favourite is soon going to be ready to host hikers and nature lovers once again.
This mountain lodge which is a favourite among hikers on Sljeme is far from the only facility that suffered quite serious damage in Zagreb as a direct result of the devastating storms which saw trees fall, buildings sustain significant damage and cars written off.
Most tragic of all, multiple lives were lost in the severe weather event which shocked the capital and various other parts of continental Croatia, including Eastern Croatia. In Slavonia, which already struggles in all kinds of ways, saw farmers lose huge numbers of their crops and have appealed to the state for financial aid.
