December the 14th, 2023 – What with work for NATO and increased revenue, the Croatian company King ICT, otherwise among the largest ICT companies in the country, enjoyed an excellent year.
As Poslovni Dnevnik/Josipa Ban writes, the wildly successful Croatian company King ICT will end the year with revenue growth of 10 percent.
Throughout this year and into 2024, this enterprise has stated that they are one of the two key partners for NATO’s cyber security. Behind King ICT, a company that employs 770 people, there are also numerous other projects, of which the ones for Studenac, Hrvatske šume/Croatian forests, Podravka and Končar particularly stand out. In addition to all of the above, this year, they made a leap into the western market and acquired the company Alter Info.
King ICT, one of the largest IT companies in the Republic of Croatia, is ending the year with the aforementioned revenue growth and well-maintained profitability.
Expansion towards the west, and a nod from NATO
“Our figures are above the market indicators for large and medium-sized companies in the IT sector and sound encouraging. We demonstrate stability, resilience, the ability to adapt and the correctness of the strategy of a large system integrator. We’re a very reliable provider of a wide range of IT services, solutions and products on the Croatian, regional and emerging markets of Western Europe”, they stated from the company, also making sure to point out that they’re continuing with further expansion to the West, as evidenced by the opening of the KING ICT Belgium branch in Brussels. Back at the beginning of 2023, NATO chose the Croatian company King ICT as one of the two key cyber security partners for their various operations around the world.
“This means that in 2023 and 2024, King ICT has been and will remain in charge of high-priority tasks and the implementation of some of the most modern cyber security solutions for NATO,” said Plamenko Barišić, president of the King ICT Management Board.
Among the other projects they’re currently working on, the company singles out those for Končar, Hrvatske šume/Croatian forests, Podravka, Studenac, as well as the implementation of the Intelligent Transport System in Split, which, according to them, is one of the most modern projects in all of Europe. They also noted that such projects have already been established in Zadar and Šibenik, where they raised the experience of road users to a significantly higher level.
The smart city concept
“The projects are part of the “smart city” concept, and include, among other things, smart traffic lights, video surveillance, and informing passengers about the situation with the traffic. In addition they include prioritising public transport vehicles and emergency services, implementing a system for monitoring weather conditions, and equipping the Traffic Control and Monitoring Centre,” they explained from the Croatian company King ICT.
In the retail segment, the project of implementing a wireless network solution for Studenac was highlighted by the company. This solution enabled adequate coverage and signal quality across the premises of the retail chain, as a part of key business support.
They also stated that in cooperation with Končar Digital, they’re implementing a project involving the consolidation and modernisation of the entire ICT infrastructure of this large group. The implementation of the SAP ERP solution for Croatian forests was also very successful, as this represents one of the largest SAP implementations in all of Croatia this year.
“Of the other numerous projects, it’s certainly worth mentioning the one for Podravka. This is currently the largest investment in integrated power plants in the entire country. As part of the project, the construction of photovoltaic power plants will be carried out, which will provide the investor with significant savings in the cost of electricity and also reduce exhaust gas emissions. The project includes five photovoltaic power plants, and covers more than forty roofs,” Barišić revealed.
Alter Info and Omega Software
In addition to numerous projects, both completed and ongoing, the Croatian company King ICT emphasised the fact that they have taken over the company Alter Info. With this, their range of services and products in the field of cybernetic and information security has been expanded. Back in 2021, they also took over Omega Software.
