February the 24th, 2024 – The Croatian Defence Ministry has announced that the country has now officially been handed the sixth Rafale fighter aircraft from France.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, the Ministry of Defence took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce that Croatia is now the official owner of the first six Rafale planes.
“The Republic of Croatia now officially owns the sixth Rafale multi-purpose fighter plane from France, and thus the first six planes are now in Croatian ownership,” reads the post by the Croatian Defence Ministry (MORH) on X.
As a reminder, back in January, Defence Minister Ivan Anušić announced that the fifth Rafale multi-purpose fighter plane had officially become part of the Croatian Armed Forces. At that time, HDZ announced on social media that the squadron of the Croatian Air Force will number twelve multi-purpose fighter planes of the 4.5+ generation.
“These Rafales will take to the skies on the anniversary of Operation Flash (Bljesak), as well as on Victory and Homeland Thanksgiving Day and the Day of Croatian Defenders,” they stated.
