March the 13th, 2024 – One Croatian pizzeria is so confident that nobody can beat their challenge that they’re willing to award 1,000 euros to anyone who does actually manage.
We all know that Croatian pizzas are generally excellent. Despite the arrival of the likes of Domino’s and soon Pizza Hut, homemade pizzas from small konobas (taverns) fill a hole and satisfy the taste buds like few other things.
There’s nothing quite like sitting down to a fresh, homemade pizza made by the skilled hands of a local chef as the rain drizzles outside and commuters busy themselves outside of a central Zagreb restaurant window.
Nothing quite hits the spot like a pizza in the evening after a scorching summer’s day full of swimming in the crystal clear Adriatic Sea, either. There’s probably only one thing that could make either of these experiences better, and that’s being paid for it. One Croatian pizzeria in Karlovac is doing just that – if you can beat their, erm, rather cholesterol raising challenge.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, this Croatian pizzeria located in Karlovac, which sits not far from Zagreb, is promising to award 1,000 euros to anyone who manages to eat their one-metre-long and half-meter-wide pizza, all by by themselves in an hour or less.
So far, as many as 27 different people have tried to complete the task, but the exact same number of them failed, leaving the restaurant with no prize and undoubtedly a very distended stomach.
