April the 17th, 2024 – Croatian entrepreneur Mate Rimac was born in Livno in Bosnia and Herzegovina, despite living in Croatia. He’s giving back to his hometown with the Continental Adventure company.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, Croatia’s most well-known entrepreneur and one of the richest people in the Balkans, Mate Rimac, has a company in his hometown of Livno in neighbouring Bosnia and Herzegovina as well as his multitude of enterprises based in Croatia. Mate Rimac founded the company Continental Adventure in Livno, which deals with “outdoor” tourism and marketing services, according to a report from BIznisInfo.ba.
The company organises both one-day and multi-day trips, and is also building the first glamping resort in this area. Tourism isn’t usually the innovative Rimac’s forte, with him loving cars and tech quite famously. That said, Bosnia and Herzegovina is unrivalled in terms of natural beauty, and he has clearly seen an opportunity to give back to his home country and town by bringing the crowds there. In addition to providing accommodation and numerous outdoor activities, this resort will also offer guests photo safaris with Livno’s famous wild horses, as well as trips to the Dinara mountains.
Earlier on, and also in his hometown of Livno, Mate Rimac also started the Linnovate Technology Park, where a number of smaller companies came to life. The two owners of Continental Adventure are Mate Rimac and Marin Mamuza, who is also the director of the company which boasts total assets of about 3.5 million Bosnian convertible marks (KM).
Last year, the company had total revenues of 104,000 KM and total expenses of 266,000 KM. It is likely that the company will need more time to develop its business and become profitable.
