October the 26th, 2024 – Dalmatia Tower, Croatia’s tallest building, has earned international recognition as the best European project when it comes to “green” construction.

As Poslovni Dnevnik writes, Dalmatia Tower, Croatia’s tallest building, is the winner of the prestigious international CRE (Commercial real estate) Award in the category of the best mixed-use green construction project in Europe.

This award is traditionally awarded by the Europa property organisation based in the Hungarian capital city of Budapest, which brings together the most prominent architects, investors, designers and managers from the world of real estate across the continent. It also specialises in publishing professional publications and organising all kinds of conferences.

Dalmatia Tower earned this commendable recognition from a jury consisting of over 40 members, which this year received almost a hundred nominations in 15 categories. Dalmatia Tower won the CRE award in the category in which large projects such as Liberty in Hungary, Hagibor in the Czech Republic and Time Alacati in Turkey were left in the dust by comparison.

Josip Komar, owner of the Westgate Group, whose portfolio includes Dalmatia Tower, stated that this is the third international success and recognition for the project. Dalmatia Tower has now definitively proven its sheer importance far beyond the basic domestic framework.

“First and foremost, I’d like to point out that this project is special in that it’s backed by a local team of experts. From investors, architects, managers to engineers and contractors… This is a real rarity in today’s real estate and investment world. At such international events, we’re always met with enthusiasm when we communicate this fact to our colleagues.

This is an indication that we still, unfortunately, value our own profession and knowledge too little. I’m very happy that the Westgate Group has won another international award in a very tough competition and affirmed Croatia on the European and global map of real estate investments. This is yet more proof that we’re doing well and that we’ve forever changed the way of construction and business thinking here in Croatia”.

As a reminder, Dalmatia Tower also received recognition back in 2017 as part of the International Property Awards. As many as 80 members of an expert group, among them four English lords, reviewed and evaluated thousands of submitted projects from 115 countries.

The main prize for the best project in the category of high-rise commercial buildings in Europe went to Dalmatia Tower, as did the one for the best interior decoration, architecture and real estate management.
