November the 22nd, 2024 – Split is in the lead for both foreign and domestic tourists when it comes to ferry ticket bookings in Croatia in 2024, according to Ferryscanner.
As Morski writes, the popular online ferry ticket search and booking platform Ferryscanner has reported that Split has taken first place as the destination with the most ferry ticket bookings in Croatia for 2024. The second largest city in Croatia was followed by the central Dalmatian island of Hvar and of couse, Dubrovnik.
The following five places on the list are occupied by the islands of Brač, Korčula and Mljet, and then by the Istrian city of Pula and Dalmatian gem Zadar. There are noticeable differences in preferences seen between foreign and domestic tourists.
Split is the first choice for both categories of tourists when it comes to ferry ticket bookings. Accumulating to 29.8 percent of domestic and 36.87 percent of international tourists. Domestic tourists travelled most to Pula and Brač, which are tied as the second most booked destinations with 11.69 percent. Dubrovnik in the extreme south of Dalmatia is also among the most popular destinations, along with Hvar, Korčula, Mljet, Silba and Lošinj, according to a report from DuList.
Dubrovnik, known for its endless issues with cruise ships, ranked in third place as the most popular destination among foreigners for ferry ticket bookings, with a percentage of 12.8. As stated, first place was taken by Split, which is favoured by 36.87 percent of tourists, and second place was Croatia’s so-called premier island of Hvar, with 24.80 percent.
