As the destination for their first mobility project “Erasmus +”, teachers and students from France have chosen Split and its Crafts Technical School. In France, the students attend the Pierre-Joël Bonté Vocational School in Riom, a town near Clermont-Ferrand, situated almost in the geographical center of France, reports Slobodna Dalmacija on October 2, 2015.
The three 17-year-olds who are studying to become heating and plumbing technicians will stay in Split for three weeks, while seven teachers and Nathalie Boudard, the project manager, will rotate during this period.
The long-term cooperation between the Crafts Technical School and Vertron company in vocational training of students, future plumbers and heating technicians, has resulted in the agreement about accommodation of visiting students in Duilovo. The company owner Mario Muslim made sure that French students, in addition to flexible working hours and transportation to the workplace, have enough free time to get to know Split and socialize with their Croatian peers.
The teachers of vocational subjects from France are present during the classes held by their Croatian colleagues. The director of the Split school Renato Žuvela and his team engaged in the “Erasmus +” project, which includes project manager Sanja Novak and manager of practical training Milivoj Kalebić, have thus continued with their successful execution of various European programs.
By searching a database of European schools which participate in mobility projects, the guests from France have recognized the work of the Split school and have decided to partner in future projects.
During the school year, a project will be developed which will enable the Croatian teachers from the Crafts Technical School to visit the Pierre-Joël Bonté School in France.
