Croatian centre-half quoted the Bible on his Facebook page, and the public is left wondering if this is a message to coach Čačić and his boss
Dejan Lovren is in the center of attention in sport media all over Europe, and it seems that on April 16, 2016, he decided to use this attention to promote his Christian values, and at the same time to send the message to the Croatian football authorities.
He posted a quote from The Gospel According to Matthew as it follows; “You have heard the law that says, ‘Love your neighbor’ and hate your enemy. But I say, love your enemies! Pray for those who persecute you! In that way, you will be acting as true children of your Father in heaven. For he gives his sunlight to both the evil and the good, and he sends rain on the just and the unjust alike. If you love only those who love you, what reward is there for that? Even corrupt tax collectors do that much. If you are kind only to your friends, how are you different from anyone else? 5:43-47
As there is a lot written about the quarrel between Dejan Lovren and coach Čačić, we would leave it with this, but there might be more depth to this suspension as there is a theory in certain media connecting this suspension with Lovren’s role in the criminal investigation against Zdravko Mamić. We will have to wait and see how this will unfold, but it seems that Dejan Lovren has turned the other cheek first, so it’s Ante Čačić’s move. Presuming he is independent in his decision-making.
