Video won the Mention award for Eco-tourism.
The makers of Dalmacijaultra trail video, returned from the Tourfilm Riga festival on May 3, 2016, with the Mention award for eco-tourism. Award was accepted by Ivan Perić the director of the movie, and Dragomir Čović and Damir Ivanišević on behalf of the organising committee.
During the ceremony, hosts stressed the importance of the eco-tourism Mention award considering that Latvia is one of the greenest countries in Europe.
Along with the Dalmacija ultra trail promo movie, the same award was given to another Croatian promo clip – Dubrovnik and time.
Dalmacija ultra trail is a race that will take place in October, 21-23 to be more exact. The race will include trails on 5 mountains: Biokovo, Mosor, Omiška Dinara, Primorska kosa and Kozjak, three rivers: Cetina, Žrnovnica, and Jadro as well as renowned historical and cultural locations such as the Fortica in Omiš, Klis, and Salona.
Promo movie for this exceptional event has already been seen in 105 countries and it beat 350 other clips in order to win this award in Riga: „Reactions to our promo clip were very positive both on YouTube and on ll the expos we visited in order to promote the race, but I have to say, we were not surprised by the award. The concept of our race is to go through the most attractive locations from Baška Voda to Kaštela in four different race categories 20, 60, 110 i 165 km“ – race director Dragomir Čović commented and added „I am sure that this movie is the reason why we already have so many participants from 16 countries. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank all Tourist boards and local administrations for recognising the project and supporting it“.
The race has already been covered by numerous international specialised magazines such as GoOut, Adventure sport, Outdoor while the Trail Runner magazine, one of the most renowned trail magazines in the world, described Dalmacija ultra trail as a very interesting and very different race concept that equally promotes natural and historical heritage. Total Croatia News also published a very detailed story on Dalmacija Ultra Trail race.
This is the first trail race promo movie to ever win an award of this kind: „We shot the movie on 5 mountains and three rivers, Some of the locations were very hard to reach but they offered stunning views so it was all worth the trouble. Along with locations across Central Dalmatia, our aim was to show the history and culture as well as the laid-back Mediterranean lifestyle. More than 60 actors and extras were used in this promo clip, most of them from local cultural associations.“ – Ivan Perić, author of the clip commented.
Organisers will continue to promote the race on international tourism expos and other trail races and so far it seems their efforts are bringing in great results since some of the biggest names in this sport already confirmed their arrival to Dalmacija Ultra Trailng have already confirmed their arrival.
