One silver and three bronze medal is this year’s harvest for Croatian Taekwondo team, and the Olympic Games are close.
Another great weekend for Croatian athletes. This time, the news came from Montreux, Switzerland, as the Croatian Taekwondo team has won two more medals on May 21, 2016. We have already reported on the first bronze won by Lucija Zaninović in -49 Kg category, yesterday Martina Zubčić repeated the success in the -57 Kg category, and today Toni Kanaet won the silver in the -74 Kg male category, while Matea Jelić won one more bronze for Croatia in the -67 Kg category.
Just like their Karate colleagues few weeks ago, the Taekwondo team has traveled to Montreux by bus, but it will be a happy trip back, as they carry home so many medals. And in Croatian terms, they can be happy that they even got the chance to perform, unlike their Judo colleagues.
Zaninović, Jelić, and Kanaet are members of TC Marjan Split, and Zupćić is a member of TC Dubrava Zagreb, Unfortunately, due to different rules for the Olympics, only Lucija Zaninović will participate in the Rio Olympics, where she will be joined by her twin sister Ana Zaninović and their male colleague Filip Grgić. Four more Croatian athletes will hit the tatami tomorrow, so the harvest might not be over just yet.
