In the first round Iva beat French competitor Marie Paul Ble 1-0, and in round two, she repeated the result against Russian Anastasia Gurskaya. In the semifinal, she beat Netherland’s Oogink Reshmia 4-3, and in the final match her victim was Serbian Milica Mandić, once more the result was 1-0 for the Croatian twenty year-old.
In the same category, Petra Matijašević, Croatian-born from Split, won the bronze medal, but competing as part of the Macedonian national team. Congratulations are in order for the Croatian team, and what more to add but to hope that the harvest will continue at the Olympics.
