This Croatian company is already working with some of the largest IT companies in the world, and soon they are hoping to bring giants such as Amazon and Google.
As reported by Poslovni.hr on July 13,2016, investments in the Zagreb data centre Altus IT are flourishing. After it became the central internet traffic exchange point in Croatia, the goal of this company is to become the central connecting point for global cloud giants.
According to Polsovni.hr, Microsoft already placed a direct connection to its Azure cloud platform in Altus IT as well as its connections to services such as Office 356. This means large companies and banks no longer have to use their Office 356 through the internet, instead, they can optically connect to Altus IT and go log on to all Microsoft services directly. Goran Djoreski, president of the Board of Altus IT hopes they will be able to provide direct connections to Amazon, Google and IBM soon> “We want to be the direct link for all the ‘clouds’ provided by global players in order to answer the growing demand expressed by banks, telecom, pharma and software companies we cooperate with” he noted.
He also adds how their existing space is completely full and that they will have to expand. According to Djoreski, they can sign on one or two medium sized clients by the end of the year and they are rushing to expand in order to strengthen their offer of hybrid cloud services that will include world-class cloud names “Half of our users are from abroad, some of them only opened their branch offices in Croatia because of their cooperation with our company” Djoreski says. He also adds their users come from Argentina, USA, UK, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Portugal, Nigeria, Israel, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Romania and Slovenia. One of their most unusual cooperation is with an Italian software company that sells its services in Russia.
“This Italian company produces software which is physically handled in our data centre in Zagreb, services are used in Moscow and, because of their legislation, data is stored somewhere in Russia” Djoreski describes, adding that demand for such hybrid services is constantly on the rise. At the moment, 20% of Altus’ revenue comes from these services “However, this is the main growth generator and it will dominate in the future because companies are looking for cloud and data centres in order to research viruses, collect benchmarking data, keep their VoIP infrastructure and gaming applications, even pharmacies and bakeries work on a software handled here” he continues.
He also states that their latest investment will enable the company to double their revenue which could not have been possible if it weren’t for the fact that they became the main internet spot in Croatia. “We succeeded in connecting telecom and IT worlds. This specific synergy is the way of the future” Djoreski concludes.
