Prices of apartments in Zagreb increased by 1.1 percent compared to July.
Data from the Crozilla.com website show that average asking price for apartments in August was 0.2 percent higher than a month earlier. Prices of apartments in Zagreb were 1.1 higher than in July, and the average asking price was 1,607 euros per square metre, reports Poslovni.hr on September 6, 2016.
At the annual level, prices recorded a slight decrease and were on average 3 percent lower than last year. The largest annual decline in prices in August was recorded in Sisak and Dubrovnik, while the largest increase was recorded in Šibenik, Zadar and Varaždin.
On a monthly basis, the biggest drop in prices was recorded in Pula and Dubrovnik. Information from Crozilla.com show that in Pula apartment prices in August were 1.1 percent lower than a month earlier and dropped to 1,302 euros for square metre. In Dubrovnik, the price of a square metre was 3,047 euros, which was 0.8 percent lower than a month earlier. Fall in prices of 0.5 percent was recorded in Senj, where the average asking price for apartments was 1,301 euros per square metre, and in Umag, where the average price was 1,977 euros.
According to Crozilla.com, the average asking price for apartments in Sisak in August was 672 euros per square metre, which is 3.1 percent more than the previous month, but over 20 percent less than in the same month last year – it is at the same time the largest monthly increase and the biggest annual fall in prices.
Over the last few days, Šibenik has been featured prominently in many news articles, due to a visit by famous actor Brad Pitt who is allegedly planning to invest money in the local real estate market. The data by Crozilla.com shows that prices of apartments in Šibenik in August recorded an increase on a monthly and annual basis, and the average asking price for a square metre of an apartment climbed to 1,467 euros.
In addition to apartments in Zagreb, for which demand is still higher than in other towns, apartments in Split, Zadar, Pula and Osijek were also sought after in August. Among foreign buyers, in addition to Zagreb, apartments in Makarska, Split, Pula, on the island of Krk and in Crikvenica have proved to be popular.
