As TCN reported back in January, there is more Croatian technological success as Zagrebs’ MicroBlink wings its way into American politics.
Americans will soon have the answer to the long awaited question of Clinton or Trump in just a matter of days, and regardless of who they choose, Croatian technology is there to lend them a helping hand in performing their civil duty.
BlinkID, which enables the scanning of various ID documents with barcodes or OCR recognition is developed by the Zagreb based company MicroBlink, and its co-founder, Izet Zdralovic, confirmed to Slobodna Dalmacija that the innovative technology is being used in the US Presidential elections.
MicroBlink use the most advanced neural networks and deep learning techniques to provide the fastest and the most accurate text recognition using a smartphone camera, enabling people to easily scan and process documentation such as drivers licenses, ID cards and passports in a mere 3 seconds, simply by using a mobile phone.
“We have signed contracts with a number of partners in the US, which are private companies or NGOs for the use of this technology” stated Zdralovic. He added that the handy technology is already in use for applications for the registration of American voters for the upcoming Tuesday election. It will also be used to identify voters when they place their vote.
MicroBlink were the startup behind the popular ”Photomath” app which gives its users real-time solutions to various mathematical problems after taking a photo of the problem using a phone camera.
