There is a sharp increase in a number of new cars sold in Croatia.
The car market in the European Union in November recovered after a slowdown in October, with Croatia achieving a double-digit growth, announced on Thursday the European manufacturers association ACEA, reports Lider on December 15, 2016.
According to the data, from the beginning of the year to the end of November a total of 40,631 vehicles were sold in Croatia, which was 7,024 cars or 21 percent more than in the same period last year.
In November, in 27 member states of the European Union (excluding Malta, for which there is no data available) a total of 1,148,618 new cars were registered, which was an increase of 5.8 percent compared to the same month last year.
The sales grew in all major markets: in Spain by 13.5 percent, in France by 8.5 percent, and in Italy by 8.2 percent. Great Britain with 2.9 percent and Germany with 1.5 percent achieved a somewhat more modest growth.
In Croatia, 2,752 new cars were registered in November, which was an increase of 24.5 percent compared to the same month last year. In the first 11 months of this year, 39,627 new cars were registered, which was as much as 20.2 percent more compared to the same period last year, according to ACEA.
In eleven months of this year, in the 27 member states of the European Union a total of 13.5 million new cars were registered, which was an increase of 7.1 percent compared to the same period last year. All five major markets contributed positively to growth, with Italy at the forefront with 16.5 percent, followed by Spain with 11.1 percent, France with 5 percent, Germany with 4.6 percent, and Great Britain with 2.5 percent.
According to previously published data of Promocija Plus agency, which are based on the Interior Ministry’s records, 2,826 new cars were sold in Croatia in November, which was 518 cars or 22.5 percent more than in November last year. Since the beginning of the year to the end of November, according to data, a total of 40,631 vehicles were sold in Croatia, up 7,024 vehicles or 21 percent more than in the same period last year.
Data show that in November and during the rest of the year Croatian customers mostly buy Volkswagen vehicles. In November, 402 Volkswagen cars were sold, which represented 14.2 percent of the total, while since the beginning of the year 5,732 Volkswagen cars have been sold, accounting for 14 percent of this year’s Croatian market of new cars.
