Round two of the group stage is going on in Rouen today, „The Cowboys“ will face the experienced Hungarian team
The first round match Vs. Saudi Arabia raised many questions about the readiness and quality of the Croatian team, and on January 14, 2017, we should get at least some answers, as “The Cowboys” will face the much more serious opponent, the experienced and tough Hungarian team.
The northern neighbors are a team cherishing the old style handball, relying on the height and the strength both on defense and offense. They play a flat 6-0 defensive system, so the Croatian team should rely on outside shot solutions, and more importantly find the way to get easy goals from fast-breaks.
Hungary lost to Germany in a tight match decided only in the final minutes of yesterday’s game, and the good news for the Croatian team could be the injury of the best Hungarian player, Laszlo Nagy, who twisted the ankle and was forced to leave the court.
It is not easy to predict the outcome of this match, as there are many unknown variables in both teams. Injuries on both sides, and more importantly, quite a few new players in Croatian roster, so all results are possible tonight.
