A curtain call for extras for Robin Hood: Origins in Dubrovnik as the final day of casting draws to a close. Filming is expected to begin next month.
Casting for extras for the new Robin Hood film began on Monday and will continue until 20:00 this evening. A total of 1,300 extras are required and producers hope that target will be reached by the end of today, things look promising in that respect as it has been claimed by several sources that an impressive 600 extras had already been accepted by Wednesday the 18th of January 2017.
Currently two filming locations, the old harbour (stara luka) and Stradun, have been decided upon and have been undergoing final preparations for filming until recently. The Mayor of Dubrovnik, Andro Vlahusic, stated that two or three other locations in the city will also be used as backdrops for certain parts of the film, these locations are presumed to be the Minceta Fortress and Ulica Sveta Dominika (the winding path leading to Stradun’s entrance accessed from Ploce gate).
The filming of Robin Hood: Origins is estimated to be the biggest production to take place in Dubrovnik to date, with an estimated $100 million being spent on the film’s promotion. Filming is expected to begin on the 20th of February 2017 and will likely continue until the 5th of March.
