Bogdan Ogrizović library in the centre of Zagreb, just off the Cvjetni trg, is one of those places that take their public role quite seriously, organizing various events, round-tables, lectures and gatherings on most days. On Wednesday, 27th of February they hosted three such events. The third of those was an exhibition opening that attracted quite a large crowd of mostly musicians and people that you’d probably expect on a concert than at an exhibition opening.
The reason why the crowd was there was the opening of the first exhibition of drawings by Željko Krušlin Kruška, one of the most renowned Croatian authors and singers of latin music, the author of “Divno je biti nekome nešto”, a ballad that to this day frequents weddings as a choice for the first dance. Not even his friends knew that Kruška was attending the course in drawing in Centar za likovnu kulturu (Centre for arts) in Zagreb, where his talent for drawing was recognized and given the opportunity to develop.
At the library, he presented about a dozen of his best works, and of course played a few songs with his friends. So, if you find yourself passing by the library in Preradovićeva ulica before March 20th, take a look in window and check out this musician’s drawings.
