7 new direct flights to and from Finland will be introduced in May
Management of Zadar Airport is very optimistic when it comes to this tourist season and their goal is to have more than 500 000 passengers in 2016 which would be a new record, they stated in a press release on February 7, 2016.
In 2015, 487 000 passengers passed through Zadar Airport which was a 1,7% decrease compared to 2014. The reason for this slight drop is in the lower number of flights and ScandJet’s decision not to fly to Zadar anymore. But even though the number of flights was slightly lower, they were fuller in pre and post season. Management is satisfied with the results thy achieved because they managed to achieve their main goals.
In terms of new flight announcements for Zadar, 2016 is already looking good. Apart from the new Ryanair flight to Berlin, which is one of 13 Ryanair flights from this Croatian city, beginning of April will bring flights by 4 new companies. Most new lines will be introduced by We Travel from Finland. This company will connect Zadar with 7 cities in Finland and in May passengers will be able to fly to Zadar from Oulu, Vaasa, Kokkola, Kuopio, Jyvaskyla, Lappeenranta and Turku.
Lux Air will connect Zadar and Luxemburg every Monday from May 2 until October 10. New flights will be introduced by HOP! and Travel Service, the latter will connect Zadar and Warsaw every Saturday until the end of September.
