How to Speak Croatian Using ONLY Vowels

Thought Croatian was a difficult language? You only need the right teacher. Professor Frank John Dubokovich, self-styled Guardian of the Hvar Dialects, was in Split on May 9, 2017, to show the world how to speak Dalmatian dialect using only vowels. 

So just how hard is it to speak Croatian? 

The perceived widsom is that it is almost impossible for a foreigner to master the tongue, and I personally am struggling on after 15 yaears. Maybe one day…

But if you had the right teacher?

TCN was delighted to catch up with the linguistic colossus that is Professor Frank John Dubokovich over a glass of wine at Brasserie on 7 today. The Professor, who has developed a cult (mostly young female) following with his unique Croatian language lessons, Hvar style – you can pick up the first one here, entitled The Dalmatian Grunt – and today he took on his biggest challenge yet, explaining to his army of followers how to speak Croatian (in the form of Dalmatian dialect) using only vowels.
