If you’ve just started your “it’s about time I started doing working out before the summer” routine, I apologise in advance because you’ll probably want to give it up when you read our Top 5 Pizzerias in Zagreb list.
1) Duksa (Duknovićeva 4)
This pizzeria is located near Maksimir, so it’s an ideal place to have lunch at if you’re visiting Maksimir Park, the ZOO or going to a see a match at Maksimir stadium. There are two types of pizzas – red and white. Witty pizza names (“The First”, “The First after the second”, “This one contains half of my garden”) might confuse you, but have no fear, whichever you choose, you’ll love it. Prices ranging from 47 to 64 are really affordable and the size is more than enough (confirmed by my very hungry and very picky brothers).

2) Karijola (Vlaška 63, Badalićeva 18)
Karijola has been one of the best pizza restaurants in Zagreb for years now, and it doesn’t look like that’s going to change anytime soon. Thin crust, generous toppings, two size options (27 and 35 cm in diametre), prices ranging from 38 to 82 kn and two locations in Zagreb – Karijola never disappoints.

3) Zero-Zero (Vlaška ulica 35)
If you want to taste Italy in the heart of Zagreb, you’ve come to the right place. All ingredients (including a special type of Italian flour) are imported from Italy, so the word authentic really suits this place. There’s an open kitchen so you can see your pizza being made. Prices range from 40 to 60 kn.

4) Pizza House Chateau des Jardins (Ivana Tkalčića 73)
Even though the name suggests this is a French restaurant, it is actually a great pizza place near Kaptol centar in Tkalčićeva which offers a wide variety of thin-crust pizzas with delicious toppings.

5) O’Hara (Ivane Brlić Mažuranić 1b)
If you’re a fan of pizza napoletana, this is the place for you. One of the most famous pizzerias in Zagreb is located a little outside the centre, but it’s definitely worth going there for a delicious pizza (39 – 86 kn).

*Since I’m a tuna pizza fanatic, the list wouldn’t be complete without an honourable mention of Pizzeria 6 in Medulićeva with the best tuna pizza around – garlic instead of onion, delicious cheese and not too much tuna. Yum!
