We’ll give you a hint – it’s a church with an exterior which is the polar opposite of this gloomy black and white interior

The photo is from 1910, and it shows the interior of one of the most recognisable symbols of the city, located in Zagreb’s Upper Town, but we normally see its exterior – its colourful glazed-tile roof is almost synonymous with Zagreb.

The church, originally from the 13th ct, was reconstructed in the 14th ct, when it obtained its present-day Gothic features. Its most famous part, the roof, was added in 1880 and it shows the medieval coats of arms Croatia, Dalmatia, and Slavonia.
