Chinese delegation expresses interest in Port of Rijeka
Croatian Prime minister Tihomir Orešković met with the Chinese National Development and Reform Commission delegation on February 23, 2016, according to the official press release sent from the office of the prime minister.
All parties agree that the meeting will significantly strengthen the relations between Croatia and the Republic of China, especially when it comes to economic subjects. They discussed the way to improve current relations through three dimensions: bilateral relations, within the scope of the European Union and through the mechanisms of cooperation with countries in mid and Eastern Europe.
Representatives of NDRC welcomed the Adriatic – Baltic – Black Sea initiative which they find very complementary to their own One belt – One Road initiative stating it is very much in line with the interests of Chinese investors. In that context, participants talked about concrete projects in infrastructure, transport energy and tourism while the Chinese side showed great interest in investing in the Port of Rijeka.
