Do you have a penchant for classical music? You’re in luck: starting from Friday, June 30, you have four opportunities in a row to go listen to some of the most beautiful opera arias in history.
The International Opera Arias Festival Tino Pattiera is to take place in the Rector’s Palace, where the Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra will stage four performances of renowned classical pieces: Chansons d’amour, Seriously Romantic, Opera buffa and Guardi le stelle. The festival is dedicated to Tino Pattiera, the world-famous opera singer born in Cavtat.
Noam Zur, Israeli conductor and director of the festival, spoke at a press conference where he stated this was a fantastic opportunity for all of those who don’t know a lot about opera, except for the soprano and tenor having to ‘breathe out’ at one moment. The audience will see there’s a lot of other interesting ways of performing such music, announced Mr Zur, who’ll also participate in the festival as the main conductor.
“The singers we collaborate with are top-quality professionals who perform at leading stages worldwide. Year after year, some of them come back to us, or plan to continue cooperating with us”, said the director of Dubrovnik Symphony Orchestra Damir Milat, who’s been organising the festival for the last four years.
You can get the tickets in the box office of the orchestra every day from 9 AM to 2 PM or one hour before the beginning of each concert, and more information along with the schedule is available here.
