Important achievement for a Croatian retail chain
Metro Cash & Carry Croatia has won the Top Employer certificate as the top employer in Europe and Croatia, reported the retail chain. The certificate was awarded on Thursday by the Top Employers Institute in Amsterdam, and Metro received it because it has achieved the highest standards of excellence in the conditions provided to its employees. Compared with 717 companies from around the world which participated in the survey, the score of Metro surpassed 61 percent of certified candidates, reports Jutarnji List on February 26, 2016.
“The results of the research done by the Top Employers Institute show that programs that we have initiated allow our employees to develop and achieve their personal potential. We will continue to work in this direction which has secured for Metro a place among the best employers in Europe”, said Nela Bučević, director of human resources and corporate communications for Metro Cash & Carry.
The survey consisted of questions covering almost 600 processes and programs in companies which had been analyzed according to nine areas – strategy of talent development, human resource management, recruitment process and introduction to work, learning and development, leadership development, career management, benefits and compensation, and corporate culture. Metro Cash & Carry Croatia has achieved above-average results in eight of the nine areas.
The Top Employers Institute is based in the Netherlands and since 1991 it has been issuing certificates to companies that achieve the highest standards in terms of their relations with employees. The certificate is based on an analysis of parameters that indicate the conditions which the employer offers to its employees and whether it ensures quality initiatives for professional and personal development of individual employees.
