Over 70 items related to Zagorka’s work are now available online
The Centre for Women’s Studies and Croatian Journalists’ Association have created a digital collection of records created by CJA and related to Zagorka’s work in order to enhance the accessibility and usage for future research.
The digitised collection contains Zagorka’s personal documents, correspondence (31 items), and minutes of Croatian Journalists’ Association (34 items), as well as the Directive on Journalists and Journalist Work.
This represents a big contribution to Zagorka’s body of work and personal life, with an emphasis on her work in the areas of social and labour rights of journalists.

Marija Jurić Zagorka was an extremely important person in Zagreb’s history and the documents related to her personal and work life represent an important contribution to culture. Her work played an important part in popularising female-related culture and emancipation and feminist ideas which affected the position of women in the 20th c. society, but also helped in further developing journalism as a profession.
She was the first Croatian female political journalist, who took part in the establishment of Croatian Journalists’ Association and advocated working and social rights of female journalists.
