Zagreb to be better connected with new routes from Croatia Airlines.
With so many new flights announcements to aiports on the Adriatic coast for the upcoming summer tourist season, Zagreb Airport is somewhat in the shadow of its coastal colleagues in terms of flight annoncement, but the capital is also a rapidly growing tourist destination, as well as the country’s business hub.
National carrier will be increasing that connectivity with new routes to Lisbon, Milan, Prague and St. Petersburg, reports Ex-Yu Aviation on March 1, 2016.
“Croatia Airlines will launch flights from Zagreb to Lisbon this May, completing its line-up of new routes from the Croatian capital, which will also include Milan, Prague and St. Petersburg. The carrier is tipped to formally announce its network expansion later today. The airline will take over the Lisbon service from its Star Alliance partner TAP Portugal, which will suspend the route from March 27. Croatia Airlines plans to operate three weekly flights between the two cities, each Monday, Wednesday and Friday, starting May 20. The carrier is also expected to announce three weekly services to Milan and Prague, both of which are to launch in May and run three times per week. The network expansion comes after four years of restructuring, which has limited Croatia Airlines’ opportunities for growth.”
