Firefighters are still fighting fires all over Dalmatia. The most critical situation is still in Šibenik-Knin County and Zadar County.
16:18 New fire in Ivoševci: ‘We expect to put it under control very quickly’
“The fire in the Promina area is still under control. There are no open fires. Around 170 firefighters are in the field controlling the blaze. The situation is similar in Bribirske Mostine, on Bribirska glavica near Đevrske where the fire is currently under control,” said the Chief Firefighter Commander of the Šibenik-Knin County Darko Dukić, who is currently on Promina.
A new fire broke out at 2 P.M. in Ivoševci, reports Vijesti RTL.
“We expect to put it under control very quickly. The air force, canadairs and air tractors have been sent out to extinguish fires in Ivoševci and Lišane Ostrovačke in Zadar County, ” said Dukić.

14:45 The commander of DVD Supetar, Nikola Martinić told Dalmacija Danas, that the fire, which broke out around 11 A.M. near Supetar has been localized.
“The situation is much better. At 14:45 we managed to put the fire under control. Fifty firefighters from every voluntary organization on the island of Brač and two Canadairs took part in putting out the fire. We are now waiting for a helicopter to deliver the water for sanation. We hope that we will completely extinguish everything by evening so that we can have a quiet night” said Commander Martinić.
The area that burned down is still unknown, but most of which was pine forest.
12:45 Facebook page Vatrogasci/Croatian Firefighters posted that fire on Korčula is under control.
12:40 The air force has arrived in Supetar to help out battle the blaze.
“All of the firefighters from the island came out to help, along with two canadairs. We are doing everything we can to put the fire under control. The thick pine forest is burning near the garbage dump of the Supetar town. It is in the immediate vicinity of the town, so we are doing our best to stop the fire from spreading,” said commander DVD Supetar, Nikola Martinić for Dalmacija Danas.
11:17 Fire breaks out in the village of Zavalatica on the island of Korčula, reports Slobodna Dalmacija.
“All the firefighters were sent immediately, and Canadians are on standby,” confirmed the Chief Firefighter Commander of Dubrovnik-Neretva County Stjepan Simović. “The fire broke out in the Smokvica municipality. All firefighters from the island are there. The east and west side of the area has been put out, but the top is still burning. I hope that it will soon under control as well, ” added Simović.
10:50 Fire near Supetar breaks out on the island of Brač.
“Fire departments from the Brač area have immediately responded to the emergency call, and soon we will call the Air Force,” said the Split firefighters.
