Popular action-spy drama ‘Strike Back’ is back with season six, which is currently being filmed in the centre of Rijeka.
Croatia is becoming more and more interesting as a filming location to international film crews – from Game of Thrones in Dubrovnik, Split and Šibenik, Mamma Mia announced filming on Vis island and now a popular TV series Strike Back has started filming action scenes for the series’ sixth season, reports Novi List on September 4, 2017.
On Sunday, chase scenes were filmed at Demetrova Street in the centre of Rijeka, which culminated with a crash scene at the intersection, and on Monday, the film crew moved to Tito’s yacht “Galeb”, anchored in Porto Baroš, which served as a backdrop for some attractive explosion scenes.
Strike Back is a British/American action-adventure-spy television series based on a novel of the same name, which was written by Chris Ryan, a former Special Air Service (SAS) soldier. The series follows the Section 20, a secretive branch of the British Defence Intelligence service (DI), who operate several high risk, priority missions throughout the globe. The series began broadcasting on 5 May 2010 and returned on July 31, 2015 for its final series, until in December last year it was announced that a brand new season with a brand new cast will start filming in 2017.
