Enjoy a walk through nature, with wonderful autumn views of vineyards and olive groves of north-western Istria
The first day of Autumn, September 23, can be spent in the best possible way – enjoying a walk through nature, with wonderful autumn views of vineyards and olive groves of north-western Istria, located close to the sea, but also enjoying the fruits given by nature, with the aid of hardworking human hands.
This day-long meeting with nature, in the moments when it is most beautiful and giving, will combine a recreational walk in the Novigrad area, on paths through local vineyards, olive groves and other attractive locations, with eno-gastronomy experiences at several wine&food points, along a 10 kilometre long route.
Start is due in the morning hours close to the Novigrad hotel Aminess Maestral, where participants will register, receive a tasting glass and coupons, route map and all instructions, and head out for an adventure which will lead them to the old harbour Mandrač, in the very historical core of Novigrad. Nearby the local wine cellar with several decades of tradition, the first wine&food point awaits, as an overture into what will follow for the rest of the day. The walk then continues partially along the coastline, and heads into the Novigrad hinterland and passes through vineyards, olive groves, forests and other attractive nature locations.
The route contains several other wine&food points, offering wine and delicacies. The winemakers themselves will be present, offering an opportunity to discuss, ask questions and get additional information on the superior wines enjoyed the entire day.
Return to Novigrad and the finish, in the centre of the historical core, in the attractive park of the Novigrad bishopric, is estimated in the late afternoon or early evening hours. All participants of the adventure and any other visitors will enjoy the continuation of the eno-gastronomy offer, with food and wine, music entertainment and a tasting and sales fair of indigenous agricultural products and souvenirs. There will also be a small lottery for manifestation participants, so the luckiest ones will also take home some of the memorabilia from this inspirational day-long event.
