In cooperation with the Cluster of Small Croatian Producers, Konzum has launched a project called “From Local Regions”, which will offer consumers a wide variety of quality homemade products from all over Croatia, reports Agrobiz on December 16, 2017.
The expanded offer of domestic seasonal fruit and vegetables, cured meat and dairy delicacies, traditional desserts, bee products and other delicacies specific to the local regions will be available to customers at the Super Konzum in the Dubrava neighbourhood in Zagreb. The shop will provide more than 100 square metres of area for small producers. The initiative includes more than 60 small producers and over 500 products in more than 20 different categories.
“We are pleased to extend our offer of top-quality products from all parts of Croatia, with particular emphasis on rural areas, as part of cooperation with the Cluster of Small Croatian Producers. We have already organised a number of events together which have gathered small producers, and we are particularly delighted with this project because it merges quality and tradition, providing us with an opportunity to offer the best products made by small Croatian producers,” said Tomislav Kramarić, the managing director of Konzum’s retail department.
“This co-operation will bring a major momentum to the promotion of small Croatian producers, who will be able to use this attractive area in the shop and a valuable opportunity to place their best products. We are grateful to Konzum for recognising the importance of the project and continuing to support the development of small entrepreneurship. We will offer customers the best domestic products on a daily basis,” said Marko Špiljar, the organiser of the Small Croatian Producers cluster.
With the “From Local Regions” project, Konzum will provide members of the cluster a specially designed area in its supermarket for the presentation and sale of their products. In addition to assisting with decoration and logistics, a unique visual identity has been developed as part of the project, all with a goal to present and promote the quality of Croatian locally-produced food.
The Super Konzum supermarket in Dubrava has been redecorated according to the new Konzum standards. In addition to the special area for small producers, it includes an extended department of fruit and vegetables and a self-service bakery where consumers can buy a large selection of bread, pastries and other bakery products.
