The new year kicks off with yet more flight announcements to Croatia’s ever busier airports. An overview of the latest news on January 3, 2017.
El Al has announced that it will be strengthening its connection between Zagreb and Tel Aviv in 2018, with three flights a week from March 27 to October 23. More information from Avioradar.
Dutch interest in the Dalmatian coast continues to grow, as TUI has announced a new route from Amsterdam to Zadar, with a weekly flight from July 6 to August 31. TUI will also continue its Amsterdam operations to Pula, as well as a weekly flight from Rotterdam to the island of Brac. Full timetables here.
While the Norwegians were the early pioneers in Scandinavian tourism to Croatia, other countries are catching up. In the latest piece of good news for Finnish lovers of the Adriatic coast, Primera Air will provide charter flights in September and October to Pula from no less than five locations in Finland. This is in addition to increased services from Helsinki to both Pula and Dubrovnik from Norwegian and their Finnish base, reports ExYuAviation:
“Norwegian Air Shuttle will grow the number of flights from its Finnish base in Helsinki to both Pristina and Croatia next year. The capacity increase means that services from Helsinki to Pristina, launched this past summer, will be increased from one to two flights per week, while operations to Pula will expand to up to three flights per week during the summer of 2018. Services to Dubrovnik will now operate four times per week. “The capacity increase means that Finnish travellers get even more choices next summer as the number of seats increased by 15%”, Norwegian said in a statement.”
Good news for the increasing Spanish market, as Iberia will start its Dubrovnik operations two weeks earlier than in 2017, with the first flight due on March 24. The initial two flights a week will increase to 14 a week in peak season. Iberia’s connection to Split will start six weeks earlier, with two flights a week from July 1 increasing to a daily service in peak season. Zagreb will see more Iberia action than last year as well, with the Madrid route commencing a month earlier on May 4. The initial two flights a week will increase to 8 in peak season.
