Preparations in Dubrovnik have begun for the filming of the final season of the hit series, Game of Thrones.
The wildly popular HBO series saw Dubrovnik shoot to even more dizzying heights of international fame as Croatia’s southernmost city transformed into Kings Landing, attracting die hard GoT fans around the world.
Dubrovnik and GoT became so deeply intertwined that many people seem to forget that the city isn’t a film set, inducing both positive and deeply negative reactions from residents.
As fans of the series no doubt weep at the thought of it all being over, the filming of the final series is set to begin in Dubrovnik any day now, with Pile being shrouded in secrecy as preparations get underway.
As Dubrovacki Dnevnik first reported, and reminds us again on the 31st of January, 2018, filming should begin at the beginning of next month, with Dubrovnik taking on the role of Kings Landing once again, and after filming tents were set up in preparation on Pile yesterday, protective fences have appeared today.
According to Dubrovacki Dnevnik, who obtained the information from an apparently unofficial source, it would appear that the stretch of filming in the Pearl of the Adriatic shouldn’t take long, with everything expected to be completed within a few days.
