ZAGREB, February 9, 2018 – The second meeting of Croatian and Serbian coordinators in charge of outstanding issues in relations between the two countries was held in Zagreb on Thursday, with the two sides noting that over the past two months “encouraging” progress had been made.
Croatian Assistant Foreign and European Affairs Minister Boris Grigić and Serbian Foreign Ministry State Secretary Nemanja Stevanović met in Zagreb today after they first met in Belgrade in November 2017, the Croatian Foreign and European Affairs Ministry said in a statement.
The two officials discussed the activities undertaken since the Belgrade meeting of November 30 by joint committees in charge of dealing with outstanding issues such as the status of the Croat and Serb minorities in the two countries, border, the war missing, restitution of cultural goods, economic cooperation, judicial cooperation and succession to the former Yugoslavia.
“The two sides agreed that certain progress has been made over the past two months, which they consider encouraging,” the statement said.
The two coordinators agreed a set of recommendations to facilitate the work of joint committees in charge of dealing with individual outstanding issues and agreed to hold their next meeting in Belgrade in the second half of May.
