A five year investment plan is required.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 13th of February, 2018, Pula is a significantly big step step closer to building a cruise terminal in the port, which, according to prospects and expectations, could bring over 200 cruise arrivals and more than half a million passengers.
”We just received a statement from the Ministry of Finance on the project of the construction of the Maritime Passenger Terminal at Pula port last week. After submitting the project to the Ministry of the Economy on a list of projects of strategic importance to the Republic of Croatia, the ministry of all the other ministries requested a statement on the project we worked on in cooperation with the Ministry of the Maritime Affairs, Transport and Infrastructure. The Ministry of Finance’s commentary has been received without any remarks, especially since we’ve already prepared a Feasibility Study and Cost Analysis. Now we’re ready to make an investment plan for a five-year period. In addition, we’ve got 65,000 euro to conduct sea-floor testing, more specifically, to conduct geomechanical investigations, at our disposal, all in order to see how the project would be developed and how it would be constructed,” stated Pula’s Port Authority director Donald de Gravisi to Glas Istre.
The director of the Pula Port Authority clarified that the research will show whether or not the future terminal, i.e, the coastline and the necessary facilities in it, will be built “classically” or will need to be set on pilots. Or, failing the aforementioned, if another variant of construction would need to be chosen.
”The price of the project has been known since the beginning. The construction itself would amount to 50 to 75 million euro, and it depends, as I’ve said, on the manner of construction or variants of the construction that will be selected after the geomechanical seabed surveys are undertaken. The overall project, so the overall construction, for the ships and all of the facilities, as well as the construction of the complete infrastructure, would cost between 120 and 150 million euro,” concluded de Gravisi.
