This weekend, Saturday 21st April 2018, Martinis Marchi is hosting a spectacular Wine Tasting and Gala dinner, accompanied by 3 Michelin-Star chef Roberto Cerea and the Da Vittorio team! A night not to be missed by any gourmand.
Croatia is moving on up in the world of gastronomy, having been awarded 3 more Michelin stars and a plethora of Michelin recommendations around the country. However, there is no restaurant in Croatia which has yet been awarded the holy grail of Michelin, the 3-stars. In the world of Michelin, 3-stars is the greatest honour that can be bestowed upon a Chef and restaurant, it speaks, not only to the food but to every detail of a restaurant, from the service and décor to the philosophy.
The Da Vittorio restaurant in Italy is a shining example of this and the Vittorio name, a ‘mark of excellence in the world of catering and hospitality.’ Da Vittorio was opened in 1966 by Vittorio Cerea and his wife Bruna; at the time it was hard to find fish on a menu in a restaurant in Bergamo, so, with passion and perseverance, they pioneered fish dishes which helped their restaurant grow in popularity. It was this passion, combined with excellent daily produce and a flair for crafting exquisite dishes which lead Da Vittorio to gain its first Michelin star in 1978.
In 2010, Da Vittorio received its 3 Michelin Stars; today, Da Vittorio is still a family affair, run by Signora Bruna Cerea and her five children, Enrico and Roberto are the Executive Chefs.
This Saturday, Roberto Cerea and the esteemed team from Da Vittorio are teaming up with Martinis Marchi to create, what will no doubt be – an extraordinary evening and culinary delight. In Da Vittorio, Roberto works alongside his brother Enrico and follows in the same passionate footsteps as his father; his “passion for ‘first courses’ has led to a succession of tempting, mouth-watering recipes, whose roots are based in the finest traditions of Mediterranean cuisine.”

However, the Martinis program is more than just an evening; the day begins at 12.30 pm from Split with an arranged boat transfer in a comfortable Colnago boat to Maslinica on island Šolta. Guests will arrive and be welcomed to the 300-year old Heritage Hotel Martinis Marchi at 13.30, before a wine tasting in the gorgeous cellar from 14:00 – 16:00.
Then from 16:00 – 18:00, guests have the opportunity to go sightseeing around the island or simply relax by the pool before the highlight event – a gala dinner prepared by the 3-star chef Roberto Cerea and his team in conjunction with Martinis Marchi. Music and dancing will follow before guests are whisked off the island around 23.30, back to Split.
And the cost of this extraordinary 12-hour day including transfers, a wine tasting and gala dinner by a 3-star chef? €150 per person. And, if you want to make a real night of it, Martinis are offering their luxury hotel rooms for €200 per suite.
I am absolutely kicking myself that I am away this weekend, because nowhere in the world, can you dine at a 3-Michelin starred restaurant for a mere €150, let alone with a boat transfer and wine tasting. This is an absolute must for all foodies – not that I need to spell that out!
