The outlet will be located next to IKEA Zagreb.
Next to the IKEA department store southeast of Zagreb, a new outlet complex, Designer Outlet Croatia, will open on June 7 and offer more than a hundred fashion and lifestyle brands, reports Novac.hr on May 10, 2018.
The outlet will bring together some 75 individual stores. On the opening day, it will offer up to 30 to 70 percent lower prices than in regular retail stores. The opening will start at 5 pm, and visitors will be able to enjoy a free concert by Severina, one of the most popular Croatian singers. The visitors will also be able to take part in a special prize game, for which applications are already being received at the outlet’s website.
The designer outlet will be managed by the Austrian consulting company ROS Retail Outlet Shopping. This is just the first phase of a joint venture between the IKEA Centers company and Mutschler Outlet Holding from Switzerland, worth 60 million euro. About 88 million euro in total will be invested in Designer Outlet Croatia.
The outlet complex covers more than 15,000 square metres and looks like a small town, with an architecture inspired by different Croatian regions. The second phase, which will include further expansion of the outlet, will take place over the next few years.
This will be the first such outlet centre in this part of Europe, and it will employ about 400 people in its stores. It was constructed in Zagreb due to its geographic position and developed tourism industry.
Also, the vicinity of IKEA department store is also convenient because of a large number of customers who visit the department store. Another benefit is that the centre is located right next to the motorway which is used by about 50,000 vehicles every day.
