And it’s one lucky bench!
OK, so I’m anthropomorphizing a bench a bit, I’m sorry. But, it’s really, really hot here, so I can be forgiven a bit.
Still, the view that you can see from the smart bench that’s been recently installed in Korčula is in fact breathtaking. Just imagine sitting here, during a wonderful sunset in the Pelješac channel, charging your phone, using the free wi-fi with this view. If there ever was a pleasant phone-charging experience, it’s this.
The bench is Steora, new model made by the Croatian inventor Ivan Mrvoš that offers you USB charging, wireless charging for some phone models (the electricity that charges your phone comes from the solar panels on the bench), high-speed wi-fi – and the view.
It’s located right next to the Memorial square, just to the West of the monument itself, between it and the little beach. Maybe there are others located somewhere around the town, and I just haven’t seen them yet…
