The radio entirely Croatian made, and is otherwise one of the most advanced in the world.
As Poslovni Dnevnik writes on the 18th of August, 2018, the testing of the all-Croatian tactical military Takrad military radio began.
The radio is, as stated, one of the most advanced military radios in the world, the capabilities of which, as they state from the multiple companies which designed and produced it, are unlimited. The radio is the work of Croatian companies RIZ Profesionalna elektronika (Professional electronics) and the Impel Group, while the company Metal Product produced the casing for this device, according to Večernji list.
Robert Tomljanović, the director of Impel Group, and Boris Smiljanić, the director of RIZ Professional electronics, explained that Takrad is primarily intended for today’s modern soldiers, and it is based entirely on sophisticated and state-of-the-art SDR (software defined radio) technology.
”Its huge potential on the world market is apparent, because when we’re talking about military radio devices, Takrad’s technology-based signal processing technology is the latest trend in technology that follows the leading world manufacturers,” they stated, adding that its software signal processing allows for the constant upgrading of the radio.
In addition to the obvious mutual communication capabilities of this tactical radio, owing to its integrated and external sensors (GPS, accelerometer, dosimeter, pulsometer…), Takrad provides, they explained from the companies involved, detailed information on the position and even the physical condition of the soldier.
