The best Croatian and Slovenian wakeboarders are coming to Punat.
The Croatian Waterskiing and Wakeboarding Association, in cooperation with the Krk Wakeboard Club, will organise the Croatian and Slovenian Championships in Wakeboarding and Wakeskating. The event will be held on 28 and 29 September at Cable Krk, in Punat on the island of Krk.
These attractive, but not yet well-known sports disciplines, which very few people in Croatia actively and seriously train, have still managed to give rise to an exceptional young athlete, Marko Gačić from Rijeka, who is currently 14th in the world wakeboard rankings.
At the championships, the audience will be able to enjoy the rides, exhibitions and spectacular tricks by some of the best Croatian and Slovenian athletes in the categories Junior man wb, Open ladies wb, Open man wakeskate and Open man wb, which is considered to be the most attractive discipline of the championships.
Many attractive tricks and excellent runs are expected, and the favourites are Nik Poglajen from Slovenia and Marko Gačić from Croatia. Among younger competitors, a lot is expected from the local youth Rok Sindičić, who has made great progress this season and has perfected several very attractive and difficult moves.
