The Croatian animated series “Little Who Who” won at a Project Pitch at a MIPJunior event held in Cannes, the world’s leading fair in the field of entertainment for kids.

The series is directed by Zagreb-based director Vjekoslav Živković and produced by his Recircle Animation Studio, and the children aged 3 to 6 years old are its target audience. Little Who Who is a 2D animated preschool show that explores the world and what people do through the eyes of a curious little owl called Who Who. Who Who lives above the Tiny Hill station at the heart of Big Forest with his mum, Mother Who, the station chief. In each episode, she welcomes a new passenger and introduces them to Little Who Who and friends. They love meeting the new people that roll in and out of the village as each time they learn something new about them and the world outside, making their own world that little bit bigger.

The MIPJunior fair took place in Cannes on October 12th and 13th. It’s the most prominent children entertainment festival in the world, as it gathers the most influential buyers, commissioners, producers, development executives, and distributors from the global Kids TV industry. It is held in the days before the MIPCOM, the world’s largest entertainment content market, also held each year in Cannes. MIPJunior Project Pitch is an additional way for producers to increase awareness and business opportunities for your projects within the global Kids content community. More than 130 projects applied for the pitch and five of them were selected to be presented to the international jury at the event. In addition to Little Who Who, projects from China, Germany, Luxembourg, and South Korea were shown in the finals.

The Little Who Who series consists of 52 episodes, 7 minutes each, and a Briton, Simon Rolph wrote the screenplay. The animation was done by Marija Ivšić, Domagoj Bogdan, and Anna Šagadin, and Denis Alenti from Recircle is the producer. The project was supported by the Croatian Audiovisual Centre (HAVC), the city of Zagreb, and the MEDIA Sub-programme of Creative Europe, and its success continues the tradition of Croatian animated films.
