Bosnia and Herzegovina might have 99 problems, but a music ain’t one!
Dubioza kolektiv is one of the most well known and popular bands from Bosnia and Herzegovina, formed back in 2003. Their incredible musical range and clever lyrics tackle the current issues of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Balkans and Europe in general. Their lyrics made the band popular across all age groups for its entertainment, but also in the perhaps more serious field of political activism. Their songs address moral and economic stagnation and are filled with diverse cultural and political expression. The band have attracted numerous people to become loyal fans and have in turn created somewhat of a phenomenon.
Their distinctive and fresh music is influenced (along with typical, local Balkan tastes) by different genres of the world of music: ska, punk, reggae, electronic and hip-hop. They published 8 studio albums with their last album from 2016 “Happy Machine” perhaps the most provocative to date. The winners of various awards, including one from MTV Adria back in 2011 as Best Adria Act; the band is well-known for their enthusiastic performances filled with energy, humour and ”statement” outfits.
Dubioza kolektiv’s upcoming Dubrovnik concert is scheduled for April the 30th 2017 at Culture Club Revelin.
